Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191)
This visa does not commence until 16 November 2022. It is for people who have resided, work and studied in a regional areas in Australia on a previous eligible visa.
This visa permits you: โ
- Dwell in Australia permanently.
- Entitled to enroll in a study course or do the job anywhere in Australia.
- Eligibility to apply for Australian citizenship.
- Sponsor eligible relatives to come to Australia.
Permanent Residence Visa Eligibility Criteria
- You need to hold an eligible regional provisional 491 or 494 visa when applying for Subclass 191 Visa.
- You must have lived for a minimum of 3 years and have a taxable income at or above a particular income threshold for a minimum of 3 years.
- Applicants (Primary and secondary) have to comply with the conditions of the qualified visa you hold or have held.
Duration of Stay
- As it is a permanent visa, you can stay for an indefinite time.
- Your permanent residence starts on the day of the grant of the visa for citizenship.
Travel
This visa has a travel component, expiry of which is 5 years after the grant date of the visa.
Family
- If family members hold an eligible visa then they can be added to the application too.
- Family members must be included at the time of lodgement of your application but, not after submission of application.
- Family members who no longer fulfill the standard definition of family members can also be included provided they hold an eligible visa that was granted on the fact that they were members of your family unit. (for example, a child in your application who has turned 23 years of age since they were granted an eligible visa)
- Family members, applying for the visa must qualify health and character requirements of the Australian Government.
- Family members, even if not migrating to Australia, might also have to qualify health and character requirements.
Cost: โ For the main Applicant, there is a base charge.
- An announcement of the base charge will be done near the commencement date.
- Additional charges are there for other family applicants applying.
- Second Installment: โ Family members having age 18 years or above need to pay Second Installment, those who:
- Applies with the applicant for this visa.
- Has less than Functional English.
- Pay the second installment only when asked to. It is charged only if a visa is going to be granted.
- The second installment amount will be announced near the commencement date.
- Other costs include are those of health checks, police certificates, and biometrics.
