Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590)
Student guardian visa refers to the student’s visa under 18 years of age. In this case, you can offer assistance to more than 1 student at a time.
Once a visa application is processed and it is accepted, you are permitted to stay in Australia as long as the dates on the visa card allow you to. However, if you wish to prolong your journey at any time, you will be allowed to do that through a student guardian visa.
Also, note that you cannot bring your family who is under 6 years of age. And, those who are over 6 years and willing to come would require their own student visitor visa for Australia.

8101- No Work
8201- Maximum 3 Months Study
8501- Maintain Adequate Health Insurance
8502 – Not arrive before person specified in the visa
8516 – Continue to satisfy the criteria for the grant of the visa
You must fulfil all the requirements to sweeten the grant and approval process.
8534 – No further stay
You might not be granted a visa if you have the following scenarios:
- A Subclass 485 (Temporary Graduate) visa, or
- A Subclass 590 (Student Guardian) visa, or
- A Protection visa
8537 – Live with the student and provide for their accommodation, support and welfare
You can reside in Australia, provided that you have already nominated the student in Australia. While you nominate the student in Australia, you must:
- Live with them
- Offer proper accommodation and other facilities
- Assistance in every case
- Support them for general welfare
8538 – Not leave Australia without the student without our approval8538
You should not leave Australia without permission. If you want to leave the Country without the nominated student, you must have evidence such as:
- You must have a solid and genuine reasons to support your leave
- You have done all the necessary work of accommodation and expenses for the nominating student
